New plant introductions for 2001!
Site Fights Spirit Garden

Since, Rosy volunteered to do the rose page, Callie the gardening page, & Violet the recycling page, that left me to do the pond page! However, I don't mind one bit. I used to work for William Tricker, Inc. , the nation's oldest water gardening nursery. The garden center of Wal-Mart (another former employer) is even selling pond kits and water lillies!

Here's step by step instructions on how to create your own water garden!

  1. Choose a site for your garden. If you are adding plants, remember that most aquatic plants require 6 to 8 hrs. of sunlight

  2. Outline the desired shape of your pond using a garden hose or wooden stakes & string

  3. Choose your liner. 45 mill liners are more durable than standard p.v.c. liners . The size you'll need is determined by adding the length + width + depth x2+2ft. overlap

  4. Dig your pond. Don't forget to add shelves for bog plants!

  5. Put liner in hole, use rocks to hold down overlap.

  6. Add water, if using tap water, wait 24 hrs before adding fish. Plants can be added at any time

  7. Enjoy your garden oasis! Due to the fact that the lake applet runs on Java & your browser doesn't support it, I suggest you download a newer broswer. It's the only way you'll see my pretty waterfalls!
